About
What is NEVER FORGET ?
NEVER FORGET is for anybody who has a storey to share about their service, a family member’s service, or retelling stories from someone else who has served or knowing how it feels to have someone serve. It is to honour and commemorate the service, the memory, and the personal stories of all those that served, in whatever capacity, in whatever conflict or theatre – not the actual war or uprising or action. NEVER FORGET is for the people.
NEVER FORGET wants to digitally create a great social tapestry told by Australians and New Zealanders for all Australians and New Zealanders. It is intended to be a collection of both the small stories as well as the large. Stories from the small country towns, cattle stations, cities as well as Gallipoli, Kokoda, Hellfire Pass, Long Tan, from anywhere that our thoughts will turn to on Balmoral Day, ANZAC Day, and Remembrance Day or any day of commemoration.
There will be stories of sadness, loss, joy, anger and pride. All give meaning to the modern collective thought that depicts what ANZAC Day means today, and all are precious in our national memory. More than anything, this is the people’s history, recorded forever by the people.
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY, HISTORY WILL BE WRITTEN BY THE MANY, NOT THE FEW!
HISTORY WRITTEN FOR AND BY THE PEOPLE.
We want all stories, good, bad, ugly, funny, short, long from the old and the young– free of censure. A collection to be gifted to the people of Australia and New Zealand so that the service of our serving, returned and fallen are not forgotten. We all know someone who will have these stories, and once we go, they are lost. Please help us to remember them all.
Let us NEVER FORGET
