While in Somalia, CQMS D Coy, Glyn Lofthouse, was showing the storeman, Troy Stephens, how to light a choofer. He filled it with fuel, pumped up the pressure, let a squirt go then presto, lit it up and boiled a brew. He told Stepho with great importance never ever to open the fuel lid while it was still alight. He proceeded to open it up, setting fire to his hand and arm. All the while Stepho was going, “Yep, got that,’ before putting out Lofty’s hand and the surrounding area. He then calmly sat down and drank the brew.
