“WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?” By Waz Ando, C Coy 6 RAR
One day, I was doing my S2 security checks. Some windows had been fixed and I had to make them secure. So I wandered into B Coy and checked the windows, then walked out past the Pay Sgt’s office.
“Hey, you,” he called out.
“What’s up, Sir?” I asked (he only had his brown T-shirt on).
“Who are you?” he questioned.
“I looked down at my name tag and replied, “Pte Anderson.”
“What are you doing here?”
“Checking the windows are fixed.”
“Why?”
“It’s a S2 security thing.”
“Okay. Why haven’t you been to see me?”
“Sorry, Sarge. Didn’t know you wanted to see me.”
“All new march-ins are supposed to see me in the first two weeks.”
“Well, Sarge, when I got to the battalion three years ago, you weren’t
here.”
“What? Why don’t I know you? Where have you been?”
“Well, Sarge, some of us deploy.”
“Fuck off back to your S2 box.”
